Fill in the Blank Friday - Birthday!

Since the old format of the FitBF has returned, I haven’t had a chance to join in the fun!  This week is birthday themed because Lauren over at thelittlethingswedo is celebrating her birthday today!  It is fitting as my birthday happens to be this month too…so here we go!

1. The age I will be on my upcoming birthday is31 – yipes!

2. The best birthday present ever would be…a MacBook Pro.  That retina display is AH-MAZING and I had to put my oldie but goodie iBook to rest some time ago.  She was awesome though…if I could just get her to update…heehee

3. My favorite birthday to date was…wow…too many to list.  Highlights are probably the normal ones…the sweet 16 birthday bash, 21st in Vegas, 30th in Vegas and all the others in between are precious too because they were spent with loved ones.

4. Birthdays make me feel…joyous!!  I LOVE celebrating birthdays!  My family has always been big on celebrations, and birthdays were even bigger because we were truly praising God for the life of someone we love.  It continues to be the way I feel about birthdays today.  To be with a loved one, to thank God for their life, the special, unique creation they are…it is pure joy.

5. The worst birthday I ever had was…I honestly can’t recall a bad birthday.

6. When I was born…my parents were in the middle of celebrating their anniversary.  They had to leave their own party to have me!

7. So far my favorite age has been…I’m not sure.  Every age has had its significance, although I’d say that this one might be a special one as it is the first year I will receive a “to my wife” birthday card. :D

Happy week, friends!

Happy Opening Cermony Friday!

This week has been nutso, so I am sorry for the lack of postings this week, but I had to start this Friday off with sharing my excitement for the opening ceremony tonight! EeEkkK!!!  The Mister and I will be heading over to Mommy/Daddy’s to watch it in HD.  We’ll also be eating yummie food and having a great time together as we always do.  Where will you be watching? If you aren’t sure and you want to watch with us, let me know!

Oh and Fill in the Blank Friday is back…old format.  Stay tuned for a FitBF post soon.

And with that…Happy Friday, friends!

FitBF - Color!

This week over at the little things we do, the FitBF theme is color.  I know it’s random, but the moment I read it, I immediately thought of the nail salon.  Go pick your color, right?!

So on that note, I’ve decided to share my fave nail colors with you.  If it’s not shown here, I’m probably not interested in ever wearing the color…unless it’s one of those special frankenpolishes…I have been lovin’ some of those!

Happy Friday, friends!

My normal, although I am VERY picky about it…straight with rounded edges, white part must be thin but not too thin and not too curved, pink in the middle.  I couldn’t find an EXACT picture of how I like it, but this pic is close.  In reality, all that really matters is that Linh (my nail lady)
or Anna (my backup to Linh) knows how it’s done, and they do. :D

Essie’s Pink Ballet Slippers…a pretty soft pink that I love, thanks to Wendy!

I’ve shared this color before, but I do love this when I’m feelin’ like going to the dark side.
It’s OPI’s Sephora Never Enough Shoes.  The picture doesn’t do it justice,
but it’s black with glitter…awesome!

I have given up my dream to get my hands on this polish, but a girl can wish, right Hongie?!

FitBF - Summer Edition!

As I introduced last week, the little things we do, gave FitBF a new look.  This week’s theme is summer and here’s what summer means to me:

That’s the mister and I, tan and all, wishing we were in Hawaii!

mmm…my sister-in-law introduced me to these and I’ve been hooked since!

Mugicha!  It's a staple, especially during these hot summer months!

Somen Salad – cool, refreshing and oh-so tasty!  I’m making it for din din tomorrow!

Spent the first weekend of summer in sweltering Las Vegas!

Heading up to Elk Grove in July for Jr.’s 11th birthday!

Cabo, here we come again (for Labor day)!

Celebrating both our birthdays…

And I couldn’t leave without playin’ this for ya…the anthem for the summer and I have to admit that I was diggin’ the soundtrack to The Show…man, I feel super old!

Happy summer and stay cool out there!

FitBF with a twist!

Over at the little things we do, FITBF has gotten a makeover, so this is my first attempt using the new format.  As I started thinking about my fill-ins, I started getting super excited.

I originally wanted to throw a big birthday bash for my golden birthday last year, after all, I was turning the big 3-0 on 8.3-0!  After talking to my Mister about it, he said that since we were already doing so much for our wedding, he thought it be best if we didn’t try to plan/throw a big shindig, not to mention the budget for that on top of the wedding – yikes.  So when I saw this week’s theme, I jumped on the world wide web in efforts to plan my virtual, already passed, golden birthday bash.

I found it wasn’t such a good idea.  My head was swirling and I even started getting frustrated and stressed when I couldn’t find the images of what I was envisioning!  I felt wedding flashbacks coming on, only this time, I was racing against time, wanting to post my images tonight!  That should be a TV show, if it isn’t already, like couples planning their whole wedding in 12 hours, or something crazy…it would be a nail-biting show for reals.

OK, so back to my FITBF…after an hour of searching, skimming, and stressing, I only found these images to capture some of what I might have included for my party.  I thought it might have been New York themed, sprinkled with Hello Kitty and a touch of fancy.

If you do a FITBF, would you let me know?  I’d love to join your party as well!  Happy weekend!

There would be…a ton of twinkle lights

Invitations would look like…this…maybe not the color scheme, but do love the layout.

Dessert would be…a cake like this...definitely not the same color scheme (hate this one),
the stiletto would be different (hate that shoe), but love the NY skyline,
the bows, and the shape of the cake.

The back of the menu would be…Hello Kitty!  Not sure if it would actually be
the back of the menu, but I would find some way to incorporate her!

My make-up would look like…LOVE that smokey eye and those lashes!

I would wear…this dress if I had some time to work out and shed some of my weight! L
If not, I might end up wearing something like this…

  My shoes would be…these Valentino’s…SWOON!

My hair would be…BIG curls…bigger than in this picture but I got a
2-for-1 deal on this pic…love the hair and love Hilary too!

Party favors would be…this engraved on the back of an ipod.  Since this is my virtual party, I’m not concerned with the budget…and get it…an apple from the Big Apple!
Hee hee…I’m so cheesy sometimes I make myself sick. :P

Fill in the Blank Friday - Holiday/Vacation Edition!

Since we are entering the holiday weekend, I decided to go off roading a bit and create my own FitBF questions, holiday style!

1.     If I could vacation anywhere this holiday, I would be doing exactly what we’re doing - going to Lake Arrowhead with my Mister and his childhood friends.  I have come to love those guys and their SO’s (1 wife, Angie and 1 gf, Iris).  The boys were all groomsmen and I know the blood that runs deep amongst them, and to be honest, I also just want to be wherever my hubby is, so Viva Lake Arrowhead!

2.    My favorite thing to do on vacation is anything big fun!  Unfortunately with my toe situation, I’m under doctor’s orders to stay off of it, which means no big fun things for me…at least this time around.  L

3.    On a scale of 1-10, the importance of vacationing is a 10+.  We always went on family vacations growing up, and I find deep value in getting away and spending time with some of the people you love the most, so no matter how newlywed broke we are, vacationing is definitely in the budget.

4.    The place I want to visit the most is wowie, there are actually a lot of places that I want to visit!  I hope that in the near future, we will make our way to Europe, Spain or Australia (I love Australia and the Mister has been dying to go)!  Oh and of course, there is always NY.

5.    Our honeymoon is my best vacation memory because there are no words to describe the specialness of it.  Being in a foreign country with my husband (it was so awesome introducing him as such!), starting our mornings with a devotional, realizing every moment that I love this man with every beat of my heart, and being in complete bliss for 2 weeks was euphoric.

What are you up to this holiday weekend?  Whether you’re staycationing or vacationing, I hope it’s relaxing and awesome!  I’ll share events of the weekend if possible, otherwise, see ya next week!

FitBF II

I realize that my post will be dated for Saturday, but to me, it’s still Friday since it’s 12:18am, plus Addy posted her FITBF on Saturday last week, so hey, it’s all good, right? J

This week is a little more chipper than last week’s health issue, so here we go!

1.  Something that is very near and dear to my heart are my relationships.  My relationship with my heavenly Father, my awesome relationship with my Mister, family, friends, all of them…they are the air that I breathe.

2.  Anything and everything is good cause to celebrate!  I am a big celebrater, from made-up Hallmark holidays like the Sweetest Day, to birthdays, anniversaries, and everything in between.  Life is a blessing, so everyday is good cause to celebrate to me!

3.  The most fun I ever had was...WOWIE.  There are a lot of BIG FUN moments.  I don’t know that I can choose just one, but ironically I just mentioned tonight to my hubby, how amazing our honeymoon was.  There’s also family vacations, high school/college years, our wedding day, our friend’s wedding days, our dating years…there’s too many moments to choose just one.

4.  True friends are the ones that I can share anything and everything with.  The ones that touch my soul.  True friends are the ones I make time for, and even when life gets crazy and time passes by, we figure out a way to get caught up in between the chaos.  They are the ones I would never want to live life without…they are my “ride-or-die” peeps. J

5.  Something that makes me terribly happy is going to sleep every night and waking up every morning, beside the man who was created just for me, and me for him, by God.

6.  A good way to spend a sunny day is definitely somewhere air conditioned and indoors.  If it’s sunny but not too hot, somewhere outdoors is good too, like maybe a strip mall. :P

7.  My favorite celebratory food is Roman Cucina, Garden CafĂ©, or french fries.  MmMm!  That’s actually kinda my problem…remember how I mentioned that I’m a big celebrater?  No wonder I hate dieting…heheh

Our weekend is packed as my MIL and FIL are down from Northern CA and we are all babysitting my nephew and niece as my SIL and BIL are in NY (so jealous!).

What are your weekend plans?  Hope they all are awesome!

Introducing...Fill in the Blank Fridays!

Addy introduced me to “Fill in the blank Fridays,” courtesy of the little things we do, so here we go!  This week’s theme is health and actually I’ve been dealing with a toe issue (hairline fracture), so although I’m not sick, it’s kinda related. J  I’ve seen some of the other FITBF themes and they seem to be more fun than this one, so stay tuned for future posts, but for today, health it is!  Have a good Mommy's Day weekend (Mommy Day post coming...) everyone and I hope y’all are healthy!

1. On a scale from 1-10 the frequency with which I get sick is...a three.  I actually don’t get sick very often, thank goodness! J

2. The last time I felt sick wassick sick…not sure.  I have had some tummy/digestion issues lately, and was kinda under the weather a few weeks back, but nothing major…so not sure actually. :/

3. The worst part about being sick isfeeling horrible because as the little things we do said, “sadly, the world doesn’t stop just because you’re sick!”

4. When I am sick I like to be taken care of bymy mister.  He is so amazing at taking care of me, not just when I’m sick, but all the time.  I love that man so much and thank the Lord for him!

5. Something I do to keep myself healthy iswell, I used to be better at this in terms of eating better, exercising on a regular basis, etc…but since I got married and especially now with my toe situation, I’m not doing a good job of it!  Thankfully, I haven’t gotten sick though *knock on wood*!

6. A secret remedy that I use when I'm sick is tonot sure I really have any secret remedies. J

7. One thing that always makes me feel better when I'm sick is…a hot shower/bath and medicine.

Oh, and tonight, I’m in for a treat as my girl J is in town and back from vaca. Can’t wait to see her - EXCITED!
